How to get documents translated<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Embassy of Italy in Nairobi does not perform translations; interested parties are invited to:<\/p>\n

A<\/strong>– obtain such service from translators known to this Embassy – Translation services \u2013 Ambasciata d’Italia Nairobi<\/a><\/p>\n

or to<\/p>\n

B-<\/strong> contact the nearest Honorary Consulate – The Consular Network \u2013 Ambasciata d’Italia Nairobi<\/a> for information\/instructions on the procedures to follow.<\/p>\n

Please note that translated documents must be endorsed by this Embassy\/Honorary Consulate before presentation\/delivery to recipients both locally and in Italy.<\/p>\n

How to notarise (legalise) certificates issued by the Kenyan Authorities for use in Italy<\/strong><\/p>\n

The applicant will need to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. obtain a certificate of authenticity issued by the Kenya Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora for each document he\/she intends to submit in Italy. This service is available through the E-Citizen Portal available at the following link – Welcome (ecitizen.go.ke)<\/a>;<\/li>\n
  2. translate the documents using the procedure mentioned above – \u201cHow to get my documents translated<\/strong>\u201d;<\/li>\n
  3. deliver the documents by following the instructions in \u201cHow to Submit\/Deliver documents for processing\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    NOTE – Regarding marriage certificates issued by local Authorities, this Embassy can\u00a0 only process \u201cCertified Copy of Marriage Certificate\u201d certificates.<\/p>\n

    How to Submit\/Deliver documents for processing:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. \u00a0Embassy in Nairobi.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      To submit documents for legalization or authentication of translation the applicant must book an appointment by sending an email to consolare.nairobi@esteri.it<\/a> giving the following details as the subject: Surname \u2013 Given Names \u2013 (type of service required, e.g. legalization of documents) <\/strong>.<\/p>\n

      On the day of the appointment the documents must be submitted directly by the applicant or by a person with the applicant\u2019s written authorization<\/strong> and a copy of the applicant\u2019s identification document.<\/p>\n

      It is mandatory to show the originals of all the documents submitted<\/strong>. Applications with documents that are incomplete, non-compliant or incorrectly completed will not be accepted; in such cases the applicant must book another appointment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

      The collection of documents once they are ready will be done strictly following the same procedures indicated for submission<\/strong>. Processing time is 20 days; applicants will be informed by email when the documents are ready for collection.<\/p>\n

      Documents dropped at the Security Desk of the Embassy will not be accepted and the Office will not be responsible for documents delivered or collected in a manner different from the one prescribed above.<\/strong><\/p>\n
