How to get documents translated<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Embassy of Italy in Nairobi does not perform translations; interested parties are invited to:<\/p>\n

A<\/strong>– obtain such service from translators known to this Embassy – Translation services \u2013 Ambasciata d’Italia Nairobi<\/a><\/p>\n

or to<\/p>\n

B-<\/strong> contact the nearest Honorary Consulate – The Consular Network \u2013 Ambasciata d’Italia Nairobi<\/a> for information\/instructions on the procedures to follow.<\/p>\n

Please note that translated documents must be endorsed by this Embassy\/Honorary Consulate before presentation\/delivery to recipients both locally and in Italy.<\/p>\n

How to notarise (legalise) certificates issued by the Kenyan Authorities for use in Italy<\/strong><\/p>\n

The applicant will need to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. obtain a certificate of authenticity issued by the Kenya Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora for each document he\/she intends to submit in Italy. This service is available through the E-Citizen Portal available at the following link – Welcome (ecitizen.go.ke)<\/a>;<\/li>\n
  2. translate the documents using the procedure mentioned above – \u201cHow to get my documents translated<\/strong>\u201d;<\/li>\n
  3. deliver the documents by following the instructions in \u201cHow to Submit\/Deliver documents for processing\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    NOTE – Regarding marriage certificates issued by local Authorities, this Embassy can\u00a0 only process \u201cCertified Copy of Marriage Certificate\u201d certificates.<\/p>\n

    How to Submit\/Deliver documents for processing<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Direct delivery to the Embassy in Nairobi.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Interested parties should deliver to the Embassy Security Desk a sealed envelope addressed to the Consular Office enclosing the following documents:<\/p>\n

          \n
        1. the original certificate issued by the local Authorities;<\/li>\n
        2. the translation of the certificate mentioned in point a);<\/li>\n
        3. the Certificate of Authentication issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kenya \u2013 the document is to be printed from the E-Citizen Portal in color;<\/li>\n
        4. copy of an identity document of the holder of the documents;<\/li>\n
        5. a telephone number and email address.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          \u00a0The office will contact the person concerned for follow-up.<\/p>\n
