The mission forms part of the strengthening of the bilateral partnership promoted under the Mattei Plan for Africa, which counts Kenya among the priority countries of Italy&#8217;s renewed strategy on the continent.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"_chunkWrapper_6ta1u_30\">\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\"><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"0\">Two cooperation instruments were signed during the visit. With the Kenyan Cabinet Secretary for Interior, Kipchumba Murkomen, Minister Piantedosi signed a Letter of Intent paving the way for the conclusion of a bilateral Security Cooperation Agreement, expected in the coming months. With the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, a Memorandum of Understanding on migration and mobility was signed, aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries on the management of migration flows, the prevention of irregular immigration <\/span><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"585\">and returns, <\/span><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"598\">while developing <\/span><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"615\">legal entry <\/span><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"627\">channels in <\/span><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"639\">parallel.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"_chunkWrapper_6ta1u_30\">\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\"><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"0\">The Minister <\/span><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"13\">also met with the Inspector General of <\/span><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"52\">the Kenya National Police Service, <\/span><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"87\">Douglas Kanja Kirocho, to deepen <\/span><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"120\">operational cooperation between the <\/span><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"156\">respective police forces, in particular <\/span><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"196\">in countering terrorism, drug <\/span><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"226\">trafficking and human trafficking.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"_chunkWrapper_6ta1u_30\">\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\"><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"0\">Desc<\/span><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"4\">ribing Kenya as &#8220;a strategic partner <\/span><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"41\">for Italy&#8221;, the Minister of the <\/span><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"73\">Interior underlined the shared will to <\/span><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"112\">consolidate a cooperation founded on <\/span><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"149\">security and the orderly management of <\/span><span class=\"_animating_6ta1u_10\" data-newtext-seq=\"188\">mobility.
