Initiative as part of the Mattei Plan for Africa.
Italy’s Ambassador to Kenya, Vincenzo Del Monaco, opened together with Kenya’s special envoy for technology, Philip Thigo, and the director of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) digital and artificial intelligence hub, Keyzom Massally, the first edition of the Nairobi Ai Forum, a meeting organized by Italy, Kenya and UNDP.
It is a platform where actors from the world of technology, business and institutions from Kenya, Italy and other countries come together to understand how artificial intelligence is no longer just a part of digital strategy, but the foundation of business growth, innovation and national development, with the goal of “accelerating adoption and impact, building a green and sustainable artificial intelligence infrastructure with African innovators.” The initiative complements the goals of the Meloni government’s Mattei Plan for Africa.
Significant in this respect is the presence of the Deputy Coordinator of the Mattei Plan Implementation Facility, Lorenzo Ortona.
