VISA APPLICATION
- BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT
To apply for a visa, it is necessary to book an appointment on the VFS Global website, the agency responsible for receiving visa applications. Given the high number of requests, applicants are advised to check appointment availability at least 60 days before the planned departure, when possible.
In any case, to ensure proper processing, there must be at least 15 days between the appointment date and the intended departure date. If this period is not respected, even with a valid appointment, the Visa Office of the Embassy reserves the right not to accept the application. In case of proven and documented urgency, a request may be sent to visti.nairobi@esteri.it, attaching supporting documentation.

On the day of the appointment, the original passport and all required documentation in paper format must be presented. The passport cannot be returned until the procedure is completed, except in duly justified cases.
- VISA APPLICATION FOR NON-RESIDENTS IN KENYA
The Visa Office of the Embassy of Italy in Kenya accepts and processes visa applications submitted by residents in Kenya or Seychelles. In exceptional and duly justified cases, the Embassy may accept applications for type “D” visas for Family Reunion (Long Term Visa) from citizens not permanently residing in Kenya. - VISA APPLICATION FOR FAMILY MEMBERS OF EU CITIZENS
Foreign family members of Italian/EU citizens are entitled to priority processing of their applications. Therefore, if difficulties arise in booking an appointment through the VFS Global platform (https://visa.vfsglobal.com/ken/en/ita), a priority appointment may be requested by writing to visti.nairobi@esteri.it.
WHERE TO SUBMIT THE APPLICATION
On the day of the appointment, applicants may go to the VFS Global offices, which operate through two visa application centers:
NAIROBI: located on the 5th floor of Park Field Building, Muthangari Drive, opposite SAFARICOM House on Waiyaki Way, Westlands, P.O. Box 25180, 00100 Nairobi.
MOMBASA: located on the 8th floor of Imaara – The New Address, Dedan Kimathi Avenue.
At both centers, applications can be submitted from 08:00 to 15:00, Monday to Friday.
Collection of processed applications usually takes place from 11:00 to 15:00, also Monday to Friday.
