Ambassador Vincenzo Del Monaco met Kenya Space Agency Director General Major General Hillary Kipkosgey and visited the KSA’s Regional Centre for Earth Observation (CREO) in Nairobi, where they discussed opportunities to further strengthen Italy–Kenya cooperation in the space sector, including Earth observation, satellite data and the development of new skills and applications.
The partnership between Italy and Kenya in space continues to open new avenues for research, innovation and capacity building. Looking ahead, Earth observation and space technologies can play an increasingly important role in supporting informed planning, environmental monitoring and socioeconomic development in Kenya.
As Kenya’s space ecosystem continues to grow, new opportunities are emerging for young people in science, engineering, data and entrepreneurship. Italy is committed to working with Kenyan partners to support skills development, innovation and the creation of new opportunities in the space economy
