Applications are now open for “Bridging Government AI Capacities for Public–Private Partnerships”, an initiative aimed at enhancing the artificial intelligence skills of public officials to foster effective collaboration between the public and private sectors. Strengthening public sector capabilities is a crucial element in supporting the development of public-private partnerships in the field of artificial intelligence.
The initiative is promoted by the AI Hub for Sustainable Development, in partnership with the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and in collaboration with the African Development Bank , Apolitical, Google.org, and timbuktoo. The program is part of the broader Apolitical Government AI Campus initiative, which aims to prepare one million public officials to navigate the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence.
The training pathway comprises seven free, self-paced online courses, designed to meet the practical needs of the public sector. The content ranges from AI fundamentals and prompt engineering to leadership, public procurement, and AI applications in the health and climate sectors. The proposed training aims to equip officials with the tools needed to understand emerging technologies, contribute to the development of effective decision-making processes, and collaborate successfully with private-sector stakeholders involved in developing infrastructure and innovative solutions.
The courses can be accessed from any device, offering participants the flexibility to learn at their own pace and according to their individual schedules.
Applications are open to currently serving public officials and must be submitted by September 30, 2026.
