Declaration of Value – KCSE Checklist

In order to obtain from this Embassy a Dichiarazione di Valore (Declaration of Value – DV) of your Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education in order to further your STUDIES at a BACHELOR LEVEL in Italy, the applicant will be required to submit the following documentation:

1. UniversItaly pre-enrolment form (link UniversItaly – site available in Italian and English Language);
   • The applicant will need to register him/herself on the portal and submit the application online;
   • Once digitally approved by the selected University, the summary of the application with all relevant annotations will need to be printed, signed by the applicant and submitted to us (hard copy).
2. A recent letter issued from the selected Italian University confirming the matriculation/enrolment/pre-enrolment of the applicant in the said Institution;
3. Two (2) color photocopies of your Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE);
4. Two (2) Italian translations (original plus a copy) of your KCSE certificate (Translation services – Ambasciata d’Italia Nairobi (esteri.it);
5. Letter of verification issued by The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC www.knec.ac.ke );
6. Copy of the School Leaving Certificate
7. A clear, color photocopy of your passport/ID;
8. The Form C duly completed, signed and dated by the applicant (link Form C);
9. For course taught ONLY in Italian Language – copy of the CLIQ (Certificazione Lingua Italiana di Qualità) Certificate with a grade not lower than B2.

HOW TO SUBMIT THE APPLICATION:

All the above-mentioned documents are to be put in an envelope marked with the applicants’ details (Name, Surname, email address and telephone number) and submitted directly or via local currier at the following address any day during office working hours:

NOTE:

1. This Embassy of Italy in Kenya has jurisdiction for the Issuing of Declarations of Value only from recognized Kenyan Institutions;
2. The letter of Verification issued from KNEC is to be sent directly (from them) to this Embassy using the address highlighted in the “HOW TO SUBMIT THE APPLICATION” section;
3. All students enrolling in an Italian University must register themselves via the UNIVERSITALY portal www.universitaly.it before submitting their application;
4. Do not send the original academic certificate/s unless instructed to do so – The Embassy will not be held liable for any loss and/or damage to original documents;
5. PROVISIONAL KCSE TRANSCRIPTS – this certificate can only be used within one (1) year of undergoing the final examinations, any request for a Declaration of Value submitted after that time will require the final KCSE certificate;
6. This Embassy does not offer any form of courier services (Local or International);
7. This Embassy does not have any contacts with KNEC or UniversItaly, any assistance needed on the respective platforms has to addressed directly with the respective service provider;
8. Do not submit back to front photocopies.
9. Applications are strictly processed in the order in which they arrive – applicants are to take in consideration longer processing periods during peak application seasons (June until December);
