In agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), Trenitalia will offer a discount to Italians registered with AIRE.
The purpose of the discount is to provide Italian citizens living abroad and travelling in Italy with the possibility of purchasing Trenitalia-Frecciarossa train tickets at special conditions, thanks the following offers valid until 31 December 2024:
- Extension of the “Speciale Eventi” offer, with a dedicated code allowing the purchase of train tickets at a discount between 20% and 80%, according to conditions and subject to availability. It will be possible to purchase tickets on Trenitalia.com, on the Trenitalia App, at the ticket offices and authorised travel agencies and distributors abroad;
- Groups of at least 10 people travelling on high-speed trains enjoy discounted fares up to 40%. Tickets can be purchased at the Frecciarossa Group Offices;
- Extension of “Trenitalia Pass” purchases for Italians living abroad and registered with AIRE. The Pass is a multi-ride ticket valid for journeys within the Italian territory. It will be possible to purchase the Pass on Trenitalia.com, at the ticket offices, travel agencies and authorised foreign and Italian tour operators.
According to the defined conditions, you must present your personal data sheet downloadable from FAST IT web portal or your AIRE registration certificate when your ticket is checked on board the trains. It can be obtained from your municipality or via a SPID or CIE account, for those who have it, by accessing the services area of the Municipality of registration.
Full and adequate evidence of the contents of this discount will be provided by the Ministry via the digital channels of the latter and/or of the Associations of Italians abroad and/or of Comites that may be indicated by MAECI. Trenitalia will supply communication material (i.e. banners, digital posters, pages with dedicated links) describing the offers and commercial conditions.
The initiative may be presented at the foreign locations indicated by MAECI during events organised by MAECI itself in the presence of Trenitalia’s sales contact persons, who will illustrate the details of the initiative to representatives of the Italian communities.
