On the occasion of the AI Impact Summit 2026, a trilateral letter of strategic intent was signed among Italy, India and Kenya, aimed at further advancing collaboration in the sector of AI infrastructure. The three countries were represented by the Italian Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Sen. Adolfo Urso, the Indian Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw and the Kenyan Minister of ICT and the Digital Economy, William Kabogo Gitau.

The letter of intent reaffirms the three countries’ commitment to develop AI platforms and solutions, building on the work of the AI Hub for Sustainable Development and the results of the Nairobi AI Forum. Kenya and the African continent will be the geographical focus of this renewed cooperation, in line with the Mattei Plan for Africa.

Particular attention will be paid to the diffusion of voice AI in African languages, to expand access to digital services and reduce language barriers. A trilateral Italy-India-Kenya working group will also be established to guide and monitor the first 15 use cases.
