Students who are interested in applying for an Italian Scholarship will be required to provide documentation confirming their status; the documentation can vary from proving one’s socio-economical status, family composition, etc.
Taking in consideration that the Scholarships are managed and granted directly by Italian Universities, applicants who are interested in applying are invited to contact directly their selected Universities who will provided all the necessary guidelines to follow.
Please note that all documentation originating from Kenya which you intend to present in Italy to an Italian University/Scholarship body will have to follow these three (3) steps:
A. original documents will have to be Legalized by the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs – Welcome (ecitizen.go.ke);
B. original documents will have to be Translated into Italian language – Translation services – Ambasciata d’Italia Nairobi (esteri.it);
C. documents mentioned in point A and B to be submitted to this Embassy for processing using the instructions provided here under (Document Checklist).
Document Checklist
The applicant will have to submit:
- Original Documents in English Language;
- Legalization certificate/s issued by the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs for all the original documents mentioned in point 1;
- Copy of the applicants identification document – ID or Passport;
- Copy of the applicants current University Enrolment letter;
- Copy of the Scholarship application Letter/Checklist issued from the University/Scholarship Body (*if the scholarship guideline contain a large number of pages kindly print only the “condensed” checklist);
- Copy of the Declaration of Value (*if in possession) – Kindly print only the first page of the DV.
HOW TO SUBMIT THE APPLICATION:
All the above-mentioned documents are to be put in an envelope marked with the title – SCHOLARSHIP DOCUMENTS and followed by the applicants’ details (Name, Surname, email address and telephone number) and submitted directly or via local currier at the following address any working day during office working hours:

Please note:
- This Embassy can only process documents originating from Kenya;
- This Embassy cannot issue any form of documentation on behalf of a student (attestation, affidavit, etc.) confirming one’s residency and Financial/Economic status, family Composition, etc.;
- Former “Economic Assistance Guidelines” issued by this Embassy are no longer operational;
- This Embassy can only endorse documents that have been certified by the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs;
- Any translated documents required by the guideline will have to be endorsed by this Embassy – translations can only be certified when accompanied by the original document in English language;
- When integrating or re-submitting documentation, kindly attach all documents mentioned in the “Document Checklist”;
- Applications are strictly processed in the order in which they arrive – applicants are to take in consideration longer processing periods during peak application seasons (June until December);
